When we are not careful about the foods we eat we could gradually loose our hair. Diet in the western regions is not sufficient with the nutrients required for good healthy hair and that is why most westerners suffer from loss of hair.

The most necessary nutrients for the treatment for loss of hair are the vitamins and minerals consumed in the right amounts.

Vitamin A

Sebum is very essential in prevention of dryness, a scalp that is thick and dandruffs. Vitamin A plays a very vital role in the production of sebum. There are drugs and smoke that hinder absorption of Vitamin A. However, too much sebum could cause the blocking of the follicles. Thus too much Vitamin A should be avoided. Some of the best sources of Vitamin A include oranges, squash, mango, sweet potatoes and carrots.

Vitamin B

This vitamin is also important in the natural treatment for loss of hair. It helps with the hemoglobin that in turn contributes to circulation of oxygen in the scalp that is needed for healthy hair growth. Folic Acid and B6 are the most essential Vitamins needed for hair growth.

The sources of vitamin B6 include oatmeal, bananas, potatoes and chicken breast. The sources of Folic Acid include asparagus, lentils and peas.

Vitamin E

This helps facilitate the circulation of blood in the scalp that results in the increased absorption of oxygen. Good sources of vitamin E include corn oil, cereals, soy bean among others. Mostly people do not have deficiencies of Vitamin E but if present it could be caused by fats and oils malabsporption. Vitamin E supplement can help to resolve this.

Vitamin C

The main function of Vitamin C as a treatment for loss of hair is collagen development that is required for the hair to be strong. Oranges, peppers and kiwi fruit are good sources of this vitamin.

Silica

This one of the most important minerals needed as a treatment for loss of hair. Also supplementing ones diet with this trace mineral is more important than other minerals put together. The reason being it helps in the utilization of other nutrients including copper, phosphorous, boron, zinc and fluorine.

Zinc

This mineral is vital in the treatment for loss of hair. Too much of it however can interfere with mineral absorption. The main function of Zinc is to promote the growth of hair and helps in oil secretion that keeps the scalp moist preventing loss of hair.
